Generate strong, unguessable passwords in one click

Weak and reused passwords are behind the majority of account breaches, and the fix is simple: use a long, random password that is unique to every account. This generator does exactly that, producing unpredictable strings drawn from a mix of lowercase letters, uppercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Because it uses the browser's cryptographically secure random number generator rather than an ordinary pseudo-random function, each password is genuinely suitable for protecting real, sensitive logins.

You stay in complete control of the recipe. Drag the length slider anywhere from short throwaway codes to 64-character monsters, toggle each character set on or off, and optionally exclude look-alike characters such as the letter O and the number zero for passwords you will read aloud or type by hand. A live strength meter translates your choices into an estimated entropy in bits, giving you an at-a-glance sense of how resistant the result is to brute-force guessing before you ever use it.

For anyone setting up many accounts at once, the bulk generator creates up to a hundred fresh passwords in a single click, ready to copy as a block into a password manager or spreadsheet. Copy buttons make it effortless to move a password where it needs to go, and every regenerate gives you a brand-new option instantly. Crucially, none of these passwords are ever transmitted or stored — they exist only in your browser tab.

How to use Password Generator

  1. 1

    Set the length

Drag the slider to choose how many characters you want — longer is always stronger.

  2. 2

    Choose character sets

Enable lowercase, uppercase, numbers, and symbols, and optionally exclude similar characters.

  3. 3

    Check the strength

Watch the strength meter and entropy estimate to confirm the password meets your needs.

  4. 4

    Copy or bulk generate

Copy the password to your clipboard, or generate a whole batch at once for multiple accounts.

Common use cases

New account signups

Generate a unique, strong password for every new service instead of reusing the same one everywhere.

Password manager entries

Create high-entropy passwords to store in your vault, since you never need to memorize them.

Team and admin provisioning

Bulk-generate credentials when setting up multiple user accounts or temporary logins.

Rotating old passwords

Replace weak or breached passwords with fresh, random ones to harden your security posture.

Frequently asked questions

How random are the passwords?

Passwords use the browser's built-in crypto.getRandomValues API, a cryptographically secure random number generator. Unlike Math.random, this source is designed for security-sensitive work, so every character is unpredictable and suitable for protecting real accounts.

What makes a password strong?

Strength comes mainly from length and character variety. A longer password drawn from a large pool of lowercase, uppercase, numbers, and symbols has far more possible combinations, which the strength meter estimates in bits of entropy. Aim for at least 12 to 16 characters with multiple character types for important accounts.

Why would I exclude similar characters?

Characters like the lowercase L, uppercase i, the number one, and the letter O versus zero are easy to confuse when reading a password aloud or copying it by hand. Excluding them produces passwords that are easier to type manually without lowering security in a meaningful way.

Can I generate many passwords at once?

Yes. The bulk generator creates up to 100 unique passwords in one click using your chosen settings. This is handy for provisioning multiple user accounts, seeding a password manager, or preparing temporary credentials for a team.

Are the passwords sent anywhere?

No. Generation happens completely offline in your browser tab. Nothing is transmitted to a server, saved to a database, or shared with third parties, so even the passwords you copy stay private to you.

Your privacy matters

Password Generator runs entirely in your web browser. Your files, text, and data are never uploaded to any server, never stored, and never seen by us or any third party. This client-side architecture means you can safely process confidential business documents, personal records, and proprietary data without privacy concerns.
